Homeless Hotspots

Hmmm...homeless hotspots? Jon Stewart got all upset. Here is the video; check the comments.

MH over at Young, Hip, and Conservative makes the argument that in fact this is a euvoluntary exchange.

If he is wrong, then ANY transaction where you try to give a homeless person money in exchange for ANYTHING is not euvoluntary.

Interesting. Does being economically abject, in and of itself, render ALL exchanges involuntary?

  1. According to John Stewart, the answer is yes, because the BATNA is panhandling, regardless of how well panhandling pays.
